Founder and Managing Partner
Ty founded GT Ventures with a focus on acquiring and building durable businesses where active ownership and operational experience could create long-term value. Early investments spanned hazardous materials services, automotive salvage, and sporting goods and recreation, with those businesses ultimately realized and exited. Ty later built in-house construction capabilities and began developing real estate to support GTV operating companies; real estate development and general contracting have since become the foundation of the platform.
Ty earned his Bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University, where he was on the varsity track and field team. He began his career in private banking, advising high-net-worth clients at Bank of Texas and Bank of America. Outside of work, he is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing with his family.
Chief Operating Officer
Ben is Chief Operating Officer of GT Ventures, where he focuses on strategy, operations, capital formation, and execution across the firm’s real estate investments and operating businesses.
Prior to GT Ventures, Ben held senior roles across private equity-backed energy and infrastructure platforms, with responsibilities spanning corporate development, commercial operations, and capital markets. Ben earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Virginia. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, fly fishing, golf, and the outdoors.
Chief Financial Officer
Daniel is Chief Financial Officer of GT Ventures, where he focuses on financial strategy, capital planning, and financial operations across the firm’s real estate investments and operating businesses. With 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, Daniel works across acquisitions, development, financing, investor relations, and strategic planning. He also works closely with the firm’s construction, banking, legal, and operating teams to structure transactions and manage risk.
Daniel holds bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business Management from Western Governors University. Outside of work, Daniel spends time with his family and manages his ranch, where he raises cattle, chickens, and other livestock.
Senior Accountant
Hollie is a Senior Accountant at GT Ventures, where she supports financial operations across the firm’s real estate investments and operating businesses. Her responsibilities include accounting, cash management, financial reporting, lease administration, and property-level financial operations.
Hollie earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Management and Administration. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and the outdoors, and she is an avid supporter of Timber Creek High School athletics, where her husband is an educator and coach.
Administrative Assistant
Liz is an Administrative Assistant at GT Ventures, where she supports day-to-day operations across the firm’s development and construction activities. Her responsibilities include project billing, construction budget management, invoice processing, permitting, and administrative coordination.
Liz brings more than 15 years of experience in office administration, bookkeeping, customer service, and executive support across the construction, financial services, and public sectors. Her organization and attention to detail help keep projects, documentation, and teams moving efficiently.
President
Brad Smith is President of GT GC, where he oversees construction across the GT Ventures portfolio, including site planning, design, budgeting, and project execution. Brad brings more than 30 years of experience managing people, projects, and businesses across the construction, manufacturing, environmental services, and waste management industries.
Prior to GT GC, he held senior operations and leadership roles with CG Environmental, Republic Services, T-Bar Fence, and a commercial design-build construction company. Brad earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas, where he played football. Outside of work, Brad enjoys bass fishing and spending time outdoors, and can often be found cheering on his son and the Tarleton State football team.
Project Manager
Garrett is a Project Manager at GT GC, where he oversees the planning, scheduling, and execution of design-build construction projects, with a particular focus on subcontractor coordination and field execution.
Garrett brings more than 16 years of construction experience spanning residential, commercial, agricultural, and oil and gas projects. He attended Tarleton State University before returning to North Texas to continue his career in construction. Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and supporting his kids in their various sports and activities.
